Obiettivi formativi
The student acquires the basic elements to understand the function of biological molecules based on their chemical and three-dimensional structure. The student aquires direct experience on visualization and analysis of protein structures. Moreover, the theoretical and fundamental elements of crystallography and nuclear magnetic resonance applied to the study of the 3D structure of biomacromolecules are provided.

After the practical session, an interactive test is carried out on an article of a protein structure, which also requires the use of UCSF Chimera software for images and calculations. The result of this test represents the 50% of the final grade on the module Structure of Macromolecules. At the end of the course, a test is performed with 10 closed questions or a short answer (each question is worth 3 points) on the Moodle platform on the theoretical lectures of the module, carried out during the lessons. The grade of the test counts for the 50% of the final one for the module.
The final grade will be expressed in a maximum of 30 and it is averaged with the grades from the other 2 modules of the course.
It is possible to integrate the two parts with an oral examination.
